Sonic's Adventure Styled Games

Sega Dreamcast

The first two 3D Sonic games started on the Sega Dreamcast. Later games ended up being on the other consoles at the time like the Playstation and Xbox. This console was the last one Sega made due to it being a failure in sales. It was released in Japan on November 27, 1998, and worldwide in late 1999. It succeeded the Sega Saturn and was the first sixth-generation console, preceding Sony's PlayStation 2, Nintendo's GameCube, and Microsoft's Xbox.

The story begins in Station Square where a mysterious liquid monster — Chaos — emerges from a Chaos Emerald and escapes into the sewers. The next day, Sonic encounters Chaos 0, a weakened form of Chaos, and defeats it. However, Chaos escapes, setting the stage for a larger threat. The next morning, Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Eggman) appears, having stolen a Chaos Emerald from Tails. He feeds it to Chaos, transforming it into Chaos 1. Eggman reveals his plan: to collect all seven Chaos Emeralds and feed them to Chaos, creating Perfect Chaos — a being powerful enough to destroy Station Square. and build his Robotnikland. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, E-102 Gamma, and Big try to stop Robotnik through multiple storylines for each character, but end up failing to do so. Chaos turns into Perfect Chaos and Sonic uses the power of the Chaos Emeralds to stop the monster once and for all.

Sonic Adventure 2 (2001), the sequel to Sonic Adventure, is a Dreamcast platformer that presents two parallel “good vs. evil” storylines, each with its own heroes and villains, and a final “Last Story” unlocked after completing both. The game opens with Sonic the Hedgehog being falsely accused of crimes committed by Shadow the Hedgehog, a black, immortal hedgehog created by Dr. Gerald Robotnik. While Sonic is arrested by the Guardian of United Nations, Miles “Tails” Prower and Amy Rose investigate, leading to a confrontation with Dr. Eggman at Prison Island. Tails uses his Cyclone mech to defeat Eggman’s walker, freeing Sonic. Sonic teams up with Knuckles the Echidna and Tails to stop Eggman’s plan to destroy the world with the Eclipse Cannon, a weapon powered by the Chaos Emeralds. Knuckles also works to recover the shards of the Master Emerald after it was broken during a fight with Rouge the Bat. After the main story mode is completed a final story mode unlocks where Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, and Eggman must team up to save the world from destruction. Sonic and Shadow use the power of the chaos emeralds to save the day.

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), often called Sonic '06, is a 3D platformer developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega to celebrate the franchise’s 15th anniversary. It features three main protagonists — Sonic, Shadow, and Silver — each with their own storyline, set in Soleanna. The game’s central conflict revolves around Solaris, a powerful ancient entity tied to the Chaos Emeralds and a dark secret known as the “Flames of Disaster”. This power is guarded by Princess Elise, who is kidnapped by Dr. Eggman in an attempt to control time and harness Solaris. Sonic must stop Eggman to save Elise, along with help from Shadow the Hedgehog, and Silver the Hedgehog. Shadow’s story revolves around The Scepter of Darkness and Mephiles. Shadow accidentally broke open the scepter releasing Mephiles the Dark and he tries to seal him away at the end, but it backfires and Shadow unleashes his full power to stop Mephiles. Silver’ story is about him trying to save his future world by defeating the Flames of Disaster known as Iblis. He eventually defeat it with help from his friend Blaze the Cat. In the final story Mephiles comes back to fuse with Iblis causing a time space rift and a new villain Solaris. Sonic’s friends must save Sonic and eventually Sonic, Shadow, and Silver use the power of the Chaos Emeralds to save all of time.
